Plan an exciting and successful hunting trip with the assistance of QRS Outdoor Specialties. Backed by experience and a passion for hunting, we enjoy providing high quality hunting opportunities to fellow hunting enthusiasts. Meeting in Walden, our northern Colorado big game hunts take place on 10,000 private acres ranging from 8,000' to 8,500' in elevation. The property consists primarily of pole timber and aspen with a few large hay meadows here and there. Though not physically demanding, we do quite a bit of walking over the 5-day hunt. Lodging and meals are provided on all our hunts with full amenities: including stay in a fantastic 4500 square foot log cabin with beautiful log furniture, three guest rooms all with separate bathrooms and showers, and all the modern conveince of home. We hunt hard but enjoy not roughing it too much. |

Elk Hunts We perform spot and stalk as well as stand hunting from 21' ladder stands. Typically taking a maximum of 4 people per week with 2-on-1 guiding, we also offer 1-on-1 hunts.
We offer 5 weeks of archery elk hunting, starting in late August and ending in late September. The first two weeks of archery we concentrate on stand hunting, hunting travel patterns and areas between bedding and feeding areas. As the season progresses we switch to spot and stalk style hunting with more and more calling thrown in as the rut kicks into gear.
We offer one week of muzzleloading, which usually falls in the middle of September and in the heat of the rut, which makes this hunt the perfect time to harvest that elk of a life time. These hunts encompass spot and stalk and calling as the main method of hunting. Muzzleloading is a draw only so some future planning will be necessary.
We have four season of rifle elk hunting to finish the year. The first and forth season in Colorado are draw only seasons but our units have a 100% draw success with zero preference points. Second and third season are over the counter bull tags. All of the rifle hunts are spot and stalk style hunts. Due to the nature of rifle hunting these hunts carry a slightly higher success rate and offer the hunter a great opportunity to harvest their first bull elk. Shiras Moose
In Colorado moose hunting is all draw hunting only, and bull moose is considered a once in a lifetime tag. If you are fortunate enough to draw a tag, why leave the success of your hunt to chance. Our land was one of the original sites for the reintroduction of moose to Colorado, and we have a very large resident population of moose on our properties. We have had a great success rate for moose over the past three seasons, and have harvested above average moose for Colorado every season. We can assist you with any method of moose hunting be it archery, muzzleloading, or rifle. Our moose hunts are seven day fully guide hunts with meals and lodging included. We offer this extended hunt to offer our hunters a chance at the moose of a lifetime.(see our pictures in the Northern Colorado Trophy Room) |

Northern Colorado Deer hunts
We offer a wide range of deer hunts in our Walden camp, from archery to muzzleloader or rifle. All Colorado deer hunts are draw only in Colorado, but our units have fairly high success rates for drawing on zero perferences points. In the Walden hunt units there is a early rifle deer season specific to our area. We offer this hunt as a separate five day rifle deer hunt. All other deer hunts we offer as an add-on hunt to a booked elk or moose hunt. Deer in our area average around the 150 to 190 class BNC. (see our pictures in the Northern Colorado Trophy Room) |
